The general idea already occured to me a few years ago, but I lacked spare time for the realization. But I just had to get started and then was highly motivated right from the beginning.
In my holidays I did everything to put my enormous creativity into practice.
I found a sawmill in North Rhine-Westphalia where I carefully selected unique pieces and talked to the owner about my further wishes. Whenever she lays her hands on exceptional gems she thinks I
could probably use she gives me a call. The family dragged along a beautiful moor oak. And whenever I take the dog for a walk in the woods there's a pretty good chance that I stumble over one or
another nice piece.
I considered my favorite objects thoroughly and finally the first lightart objects came to life.
Instead of spending my holidays with travelling I disappeared into my workshop for months and months - or shall I already call it my studio? I sawed, cut and milled. I soldered, varnished
and painted. 30 years of professional experience came in handy.
At one point I asked myself what exactly was emerging here. Was it art or design, or were it just items of decoration? My friends' marveling and appraisal made me think. Their encouragement and
admiration constantly grew. But how does one name it when it were only my artistic ideas that found an expression?
My small studio is bursting all the seams now. Every room of our home contains it's own luminous object. Even the conservatory has no room for any more of them. But above all such a luminaire
definitely needs some vastness. I put so much passion into every creation and feel connected to it's individual history that it is difficult to divest myself from any of them.
I considered an exhibition in order to allow a wide public a closer look, emboldened especially by family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and acquaintances. Also my wife mentioned casually that
I would need funding for all the new projects to come. On my tireless creative wishlist are prestigious five meter high light objects for outdoors.
From November 2015 to January 2016 the Euregio Clinic gave me the opportunity and great support to display some of my light objects of the last few years in their foyer. The feedback was
overwhelming and flattered my artistic soul.
I will continue indulging my creativity.
I thank my supporters for their appreciation.
